    Default All for a teardrop!

Goal(s) I want to accomplish during this Challenge:
My primary goal for this challenge is to improve my legs... I want the teardrop look on the quads.
My secondary goal is to continue to work on improving my abs and fitness.

    How I'm going to accomplish this/these goal(s):
AT MY WORKS GYM. Now that time is even more restricted in the works gym I have to devise a 30 min plan to work muscle groups and cardio together. Therefore I plan to do dynamic explosive workouts using light weights and back to back exercises incorporating lots of squats and lunges ie: lunge to press/squat to lat raise/gym ball jackknife to press etc. I will do alternate days Abs/HIIT.

AT MY LOCAL GYM. I still want to do heavier weights as I feel that is important to achieve the look I want on my legs therefore I will be following Mens Fitness Mag 6 month plan (albeit the first 3 months for purpose of this 12 week challenge) This is out of the 7th Annual Issue of Mens Fitness Just Workouts. I will do alternate days with cardio/dancing.

What else we should know about you during this Challenge:
I know that I drink far less water than I should as it is quite difficult to drink enough at work but I have no excuses when I am on my rest days and so I need to focus on that and get in to the habit of drinking more.
I have cut right down on my coffee intake which I am pleased about though haven't cut it out completely.

Where my eating is concerned I am a pretty clean eater and not sure I can tweak it any more but I could do with varying my diet as I can be prone to eating the same thing everyday. When I was pregnant with my first child and left the army I was worried about the money being reduced to just one incoming salary so I used to write out the meals for a whole month and just buy in for them...it saved a packet especially cutting down on wasted food and the meals were different every day... I am thinking that if I could do it then I can do it now! That is a big time consuming commitment I will have to get my head around.

As you will be aware if you followed my Waist Away challenge I am very commited to sticking to my challenge but all your support and encouragement is very important to me and I can't thank you all enough for the last 12 weeks especially when I had the 'forced interruptions'.

Thank you sweetheart I am dancing tomorrow too YAY Driving down to london again to a tea dance (ballroom, latin and jive).... I am on an early start at work on thursday so I have to be home at a reasonable time wednesday evening which make a tea dance a perfect way to get some dancing in. The size of the floor and the friendly people who attend make
it well worth the long drive.

You are very fortunate to be learning so many styles of dance... you will be a great catch to a lucky woman later in life. xxx

DAY 61 mens fitness 6 month plan month 3 workout C

I had to fit this in before going to work today on a late shift which meant getting myself moving this morning instead of pottering about. I think going back to the corporate shift pattern is going to be a positive step for me as I might actually get things done now that I have less time to do them hahahaha

warm up 6 reps back to back
    T press up 4kg db
    lunge to press 4kg db
    woodchop lunge 4kg db
    snatch 50lb barbell

    Legs, shoulders and core
cable lateral lunge 2 sets 10 each side x 20kg - kept throwing me off balance as I returned to standing position.. I must be losing weight
    smith machine squat 3 sets of 10 reps as follows; 86lb, 97lb, 97lb back off set 10 x 64lb
    cuban press 2 x 10 x 20lb
    hammer grip shoulder press 3 sets of 10 reps as follows; 4 x 35lb/6 x 30lb, 30lb, 30lb back off set 10 x 20lb OUCH!
plank 3 sets 1 minute hold with 30 sec rest between sets
    cable low to high woodchop 3 x 10 each side x 40lb back off set 10 x 30lb

unfortunately with having to get home to get ready for work no time for face and stretching.

Everthing done to failure and my hands were flippin shaking when I finshed! Great session though I found the lateral lunge, woodchop low to high and the cuban press quite strange to perform.... I'll no doubt get used to them.

Great work as always, how long do you dance for each time, or does it vary.
i was told once by an old girlfriend, never to dance when she was around, hmm, wonder what that meant.
dont judge me based on your ignorance .

Great job, Jaqi! Your workouts are always so intense looking. I don't even know what a Cuban press is.

Mr Manhands here is a you tube link to the cuban press ... I don't know how to put the actual clip on here.
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyQKP48F5kY"]YouTube- Cuban press - dumbbell[/ame]

and yes the workouts certainly feel intense, I never think they look much on paper but flip they really feel tough... mind they are in a mens fitness mag and I always push myself very hard.

Tom the dances are usually between 3 and 5 hours... tomorrow is a 3 hour dance in the afternoon. The dance friday night was a 5.5 hour one! Now you know what I mean when I say my feet get really sore... I dance in 3.5 - 4" heels rarely sitting down.

WOW it does it for you hahahah - the youtube clip I mean

Gotcha, thanks for the clip. Never run across that one before. Looks like a good exercise for warming up the rotator cuffs.
